O/V/R

O/V/R is the collaborative live project of two of UK techno’s most influential figures: James Ruskin and Karl O’Connor, aka Regis.

Ruskin, founder of the seminal Blueprint label, and Regis, the force behind Downwards and a key figure in the Birmingham techno lineage, have each spent more than three decades pushing electronic music into darker, more uncompromising territory. O/V/R brings those histories together, drawing on techno, industrial music, electro and the experimental edges of electronic sound while resisting any fixed formula.

Conceived as an experiment in the interaction between analogue and digital systems, their live performances combine sequenced material with effects, sound generators and hardware manipulated in real time. The framework may be planned, but the result is deliberately unstable: a constant negotiation between structure and chaos, precision and improvisation. Imposing, hypnotic and physical, O/V/R offers a distinctive alternative to conventional techno performance — a meeting of past, present and future shaped live in the room.
