Fira

The Fira is the exhibitors’ area held in parallel to the festival: record shops, labels, private collectors, local collectives and organisations connected to electronic music and nightlife culture, LGBTIQ+ rights, sustainability, new technologies and the city’s schools. It is one of our favourite activities during the festival days and, most likely, the easiest to explain: it is where the scene shows its face.

Who has a stand

We invite Barcelona record shops and other local collectives to take part during the festival days, and across five editions we have collaborated with more than fifty shops, labels and collectives. Edition by edition

The first Fira was held on Saturday 16 April 2022 at Hangar with seven exhibitors: Selectors Party, Tvinil, Crokan Mutant, Holamonomarket, Redsonja Records, Discos Marcianos and microFusa. It was an experiment, and it worked: people arrived at noon to browse records and stayed until nightfall.

In 2023 the Fira returned to Hangar, this time on Friday 7 April and with extended hours with Holamonomarket, Redsonja Records, Technodrome, Discos Marcianos, Hypnotic Motion, Rhythm Control and Útil Records.

In 2024 it reinvented itself entirely: it moved up to the Castell de Montjuïc and took over the Foso stage on Friday 29 March, from twelve to eight in the evening, with the longest list of exhibitors to date — Cosmic Record Store, Perros Mediterráneos, Structure Collective, Libertine Shop Barcelona, Hypnotic Motion, Praxis BCN, Phase.ctv, Technodrome, Holamonomarket, Redsonja Records, Vinilos Viajeros, Útil Records, Node Barcelona, Glove Records, Sound Market and Vinilarium Record Store.

In 2025, the Fira took place at Fabra i Coats as part of the festival’s two-day programme at this former textile factory in Sant Andreu.

In 2026, with France as guest country, the Fira was one of the ways that focus extended across the festival’s entire ecosystem: alongside the city’s usual shops and labels we welcomed Melifera Records, Polën and Klape Nunsen, three French projects who brought their catalogue to Barcelona.

In each edition, the Fira has occupied a different space and has grown from seven stands to more than fifteen, but the scene that sustains it is always the same. This city’s record collection is something we all build together, and the Fira is the one day a year you get to see the whole of it.
