MostRadio is Mostra’s radio show in podcast format. We produce our own content, published regularly, with the aim of giving visibility to projects across the city and discussing current topics in the scene and among its agents — artists, labels, clubs and collectives — as well as serving as a platform for new record releases. It is how we stay present all year round and not only during the four days of the festival.
The beginnings, in 2022
The show began in February 2022, two months before the first edition, hosted by D.N.S and Vanity Dust. Those first four episodes were a round-up of tracks and recommendations featuring some of the sounds that make this city vibrate, and the last of them, published in April 2023 just before #Mostra23, was devoted entirely to an interview with Grand River covering both her new album and her imminent live show at Hangar.
The current format
In December 2023 the show changed skin and found the form it keeps today. Since then it has been hosted by Javi (one half of apart), Jordi (one half of Binomi) and Joan (the other half of Binomi, and also HOC Radio), and each season follows the festival from the first artist announcement through to festival week. The opening episode of that new stage, ‘Residentes’, featured three interviews with Mostra’s residents — ABSIS, Timnah and Patrick Russell — and a great deal of music.
Season by season
‘Oleadas’, in February 2024, ran through the confirmations of those months with tracks by Vardae, Bas Dobbelaer, Kato De Vidts, Rrose, Azu Tiwaline, Aina Climent, Night Sea, Lou Drago, Konsudd, Javier Marimón & Romi, nara is neus and hems, with contributions from Tevor Handa, Fran Campos and T. Modet with short interviews. A month later, ‘Diseños en Sintonía’ devoted a whole episode to the design of the festival: the origins of the heart that is its emblem and the art direction with Kentaro Terajima, the design of the programme with Alfonso, the design of the spaces with our operations manager Ana, and the vinyl Fira with Wes (Mod.1) and with Tony, from the legendary Rhythm Control shop. Each guest also left behind the track they would play at Mostra.
The following season opened with ‘Nuevas casas’ in December 2024, and continued with ‘Spoiler segundo anuncio’, which in January 2025 gave away the second round of confirmations, and with ‘Olimpiadas’, recorded on the occasion of the festival’s fourth edition at the Vall d’Hebron Pavilion, one of the Olympic venues of Barcelona 92, where the full #Mostra25 line-up was unpacked with good tracks and the sense of humour that has become a house trademark.
The fifth season began in October 2025 with ‘Inicio de curso’, continued in December with ‘Beats and chips’ and closed in March 2026 with ‘Calentando motores’, an episode devoted to Mostra’m, to the Fira and to the final details before #Mostra26 began.
Tracklists and where to listen
Every episode publishes its full tracklist, with label and year, because half the point of the show is that whoever is listening can go and look for the records afterwards. Among many others, the show has played Forest Drive West, Substance & Vainqueur, upsammy, Carmen Villain, Katatonic Silentio, Felix K, DB1, Lynne, Refracted, Dasha Rush, Cio d’Or, Function, Marco Shuttle, Laima Adelaide, Nueen, Surgeon, Rrose, Steve Bicknell, Peter Van Hoesen, ENA, Robert Henke, Slowfoam, The Transcendence Orchestra, Presha, Aerae, XDB and Anthony Child, alongside unreleased material and other surprises.
MostRadio is published on our SoundCloud profile. The show is, in the end, the conversation that Mostra keeps up with the city during the eleven months of the year when there is no festival.
