Mostra is a festival that identifies with Barcelona: a project for our city that seeks to contribute positively to its artistic vitality and its communities. Championing the local scene by creating opportunities for artists who have often been left outside the usual club and festival circuits, as well as building synergies with other collectives, labels and cultural agents across the city to strengthen the local ecosystem and foster community, are defining principles of our project.

This is precisely why, from the very beginning, we chose to host our website under the.barcelona domain: because Mostra identifies with Barcelona and is a project rooted in the city.

Artists from here

At Mostra, we programme local artists to celebrate local talent and support Barcelona's electronic music scene; approximately one fifth of the performances at the festival feature artists who live in Barcelona.

Local suppliers and Top Manta

Since the festival's first edition, we have made a firm commitment to working primarily with local suppliers and organisations from Barcelona's social and solidarity economy, particularly for food and beverage services. We have worked with cooperatives such as Abarka (2022, 2023, 2024) and La Raíz (2024), formed by African and Latin American migrant collectives respectively, as well as Menjador Ca la Rosa (2023) and La Deskomunal (2026).

In the same spirit, we have collaborated with Top Manta, the social and ethical clothing brand created by the Sindicato de Vendedores Ambulantes de Barcelona, to produce our merchandise. Top Manta was created to improve the living conditions of the mantero community through an ethical and sustainable project that supports local communities instead of forcing them to migrate.

The city inside the festival

We invite Barcelona record shops and other local collectives to take part in an exhibitors' fair during the festival under the name Fira. Across five editions, we have collaborated with more than 50 record shops, labels and collectives. Following the same commitment to nurturing the entire ecosystem of Barcelona's electronic music scene, we prioritise publishing festival-related content—DJ sets, podcasts, recordings and news—through local media outlets and platforms, including Scanner FM, HOC Radio, Vanity Dust or Sub Radio.

We also produce our own radio show in podcast format, MostRadio, which generates content around Barcelona's electronic music scene throughout the year by promoting local artists, labels and collectives. In this way, the programme keeps us closely connected to everything happening across the city. Since 2026, we have also run our own audiovisual platform on YouTube, MostraTV, where we interview artists and the people who make the festival possible.

Programming local collectives and cultural agents from different disciplines within our Mostra'm series has always been a priority when organising our activities. To date, we have collaborated with or welcomed participants from L'Automàtica, Observatori contra l'Homofòbia, Sin Sync, In-Edit, Centre Cultural La Sedeta, Barcelona Districte Cultural, Paral·lel 62, Centre Cultural Albareda, Artista o Musa, Acció Cultura Viva, Asociación MIM, Arquea Colectivo, Jokkoo Collective, Canino, HOC Radio, RBL, Sub Radio, La Veïnal and Scanner FM.

ExtraMostra, all year round

Finally—and perhaps the project's most significant year-round initiative beyond the festival itself—is ExtraMostra, our ongoing series of events throughout the year. These regular events take place across clubs, venues, cultural institutions and other spaces in Barcelona, as well as in other Spanish cities and internationally, allowing us to programme artists who might otherwise never have the opportunity to perform in these spaces. Whenever we work outside Barcelona, we also try to bring at least one Barcelona-based artist with us.

Over five seasons, ExtraMostra has produced a total of 57 events and worked with 193 different artists across venues including Laut, Casa Montjuïc, Sala Taro, Upload, Centre Cultural Albareda, Espai Jove La Bàscula, Paral·lel 62, 33|45, Bar 18, Salvadiscos, Curtis Audiophile Café, Red 58, Buena Onda Social Club, Moog, Switch Pocket Club, Apolo and Razzmatazz.
