Biography
DJ and live performer DOC occupies a musical world shaped by all things psychedelic, with a genre-agnostic approach rooted in sounds that are mind-bending, ritualistic and emotional.
His selections sit at the crossroads of ambient and techno, moving through the grey areas where downtempo, dub and breaks become part of the same psychoactive vocabulary. Equally at home with a peak-time club set or a horizontal listening experience, DOC moves fluidly between different tempos and intensities while maintaining the psychedelic and deeply evocative thread at the centre of his music.
As a live performer, he leans towards minimal structures where drones meet emotional pads and melodies, building his sonic world through improvisation, heavily processed samples, electro-acoustic elements and generative and modular instruments. He is also the curator of Selene Series, a platform that has evolved from sharing his own mixes into a broader space for artists and events exploring the different forms deep and psychedelic electronic music can take.
