Kazumi Sakoda

Coming from Japan and living in Barcelona the last five years, Kazumi Sakoda is a curious artist who investigates the differences she finds with the soundscapes of her native Tokyo through the sounds she picks up on the streets of Barcelona. All this material, she transforms it into cassettes that she makes by hand and through a fine use of looping and sampling techniques she recontextualizes into beautiful soundscapes that travel between ambient and experimental music.

She said in El Prat Radio 91.6 FM: "After the pandemic, everything has changed and people are more sensitive than beforehand. The feelings are stronger than before because we know what is the most important thing in life, what to feel. That is why on the same street there is a quite different experience from before the pandemic.”
