DIY custom poster workshop

Mostra was born to weave networks in the Barcelona scene, and that is why we wanted to kick off the first day of Mostra'm — and of the festival — with this workshop alongside L'Automàtica. L'Automàtica is a collective of graphic designers, poets, artists and illustrators from Barcelona grouped together as a self-managed cultural association. Among their many works are Paralaxe Editions, a label that has released Perila, who played #Mostra22 with a live set on the Friday and again on the Saturday alongside Ulla Straus as LOG. Both at Hangar. At Mostra we are committed to being an alternative to other large events here, so we wanted our festival poster to be alternative too. Come and customise the #Mostra22 poster with magazine cuttings, drawings, paint and illustration, while you meet the festival team, collaborators, people from the scene and other attendees.

Mostrem-nos: experiences in the music industry

This round table was put together by Observatori contra l'Homofòbia (OCH), a Barcelona organisation that works to make visible and denounce homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, transphobia and interphobia (LGTBI-phobia) in Catalonia. Six artists with different diversities from the local electronic scene shared experiences and reflections with two members of the OCH. In a cisheteropatriarchal society roles tend to be pushed to the extremes of masculinity and femininity without taking other diversities into account. Intersectionality is commonplace, and the world of electronic music is no exception.

Envisioning a sustainable Mostra festival

One of Mostra's three pillars is sustainability — but what does being sustainable really mean? In this workshop we shared ideas and insights about what sustainability actually means in our scene, explored the initiatives that already exist (through ReRoot and DJs For Climate Action's Future Vision 2030) and proposed new actions and goals for the festival. We partnered with ReRoot, a non-profit that believes passionately in electronic music as a force for good and works to raise ambition and focus action across the community. Simon Lee, sustainability consultant and founder of ReRoot, ran the workshop.
